What's up with Temper?
It's been a while since our EHChocolatier days, and I've missed the joy of sharing sweet creations with you. After a two-year hiatus, I’m thrilled to announce my new venture: Temper Confections.
What’s Temper Confections All About?
Think of it as EHChocolatier’s playful cousin—a small, whimsical endeavor where I’ll craft confections that reflect my current inspirations and moods. Expect a tasty mix of:
- Candy, chocolates, caramels, cookies, and other sweets—a rotating assortment based on whatever I feel inspired to make.
- Not infrequent visits by fan-favorite treats from EHChocolatier.
What’s Different?
In addition to a more relaxed and fun approach, I’m working towards much less packaging, a shift from EHChocolatier. This means a more sustainable approach while still delivering the high-quality treats you know and love.
How Will It Work?
- Limited Releases: I’ll create small batches and announce them through newsletters to the Temper community.
- Local Pickup: These confections will initially be available for local pickup at Albertine Press, Cambridge, MA.
- Future Shipping: For those outside the area, I’m exploring shipping options down the road—stay tuned!

I wanted to embrace a more lighthearted approach to chocolate, sharing my passion directly with you in a simpler, more intimate way.

Elaine Hsieh (SEE-ya) fell in love with sweets through a childhood Easy-Bake Oven and never looked back—except for a 20 year detour into medicine and healthcare. As co-founder of EHChocolatier, her award-winning confections earned national acclaim, including Boston Magazine’s “Best Chocolate” and Food & Wine’s “Best Chocolate in the U.S.”
Trained at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts and Ecole Chocolat, Elaine now mentors women-owned small businesses through SCORE, Inc. while launching her latest venture, Temper Confections, bringing her love for sweets to a new chapter.
